Dead by Daylight: The Archives Explained (Rift, Tomes, & Shrine)
Legion’s arsenal of powerful abilities makes the Killer a deadly efficient Killer in a given match. Making him one of the most oppressive in the cast when he gains a serious amount of momentum in his favor. This forces players to respect his Feral Frenzy due to the powerful recon buff he gains with Killer Instinct. Making him one of the best Killers for players who like to have extremely dangerous tracking abilit
A very important aspect to Legion’s Feral Frenzy is that when the Killer inflicts the Deep Wound status effect he gains two significant buffs. The first being that he maintains his Feral Frenzy buff, and can chain multiple Deep Wound attacks together to maintain his powerful buff. This makes Legion a hypermobile and incredibly quick killer able to essentially dominate a map’s space with little to no difficulty. But arguably the most important aspect to Feral Frenzy is an ability related to the skill, and that is Legion’s Killer Insti
To become a successful Deathslinger player must practice and develop a solid aim. This will mitigate any unnecessary reload time and allow for some easy and solid kills and downs. So stay diligent and work on your aim to become a truly terrifying killer in Dead by Dayli
The Tome
The Tome is the core of the entire Archive that’s an interconnecting tree of nodes called “The Auris Web”. All these nodes are constructed with branching challenges that will each need to be completed during trials. These challenges can be something simple like, “help a survivor off a meat hook” or “repair 2 generators during a trial”, etc. The completion of a challenge will unlock the succeeding one, each with differing Tiers. Once players complete an entire web of challenges, they will be rewarded a ‘Completion Charm’ and ‘Rift Fragments’. Charms are unique cosmetic items that are attached to the belt of the survivors that are specifically tied to their origin stories. Thus, killers can also get charms, but they’re only decored on the meatho
One of the most important lessons to be learned as a Deathslinger player is to “lead” your shots ahead of a survivor. Rather than keeping your reticle on a Survivor at all times learning how to aim a little further ahead of the fleeing character will ensure you land a deadly blow on the Survivor. Not only will this tactic increase your success rate with the character but there is a sense of satisfaction in landing a well-timed shot with the charac
Provided his slow starts to matches, the Oni is rather reliant on the previously mentioned perks to succeed in hunting down survivors. So if a player has no access to the mentioned perks they will notice a difficulty in initiating the oppressive offense of the Oni. It is almost too reliant on these perks to succeed online. However, that is not to say that the Oni cannot be successful without the mentioned perks, but Oni almost certainly is unoptimized without them. So be sure to grind until these perks are at your disposal to truly optimize your Oni p
Despite the language barrier, Cote said the collaboration with Konami was “smooth” because Konami was excited and understood the requirements of making content for video games. This “landmark moment” is just one step in an ongoing process that Cote said has evolved Dead by Daylight from a homage to movies from the 70s and 80s into “the place where Reverse Horror Games comes to pl
A smart Deathslinger player will dish out damage with his powerful melee attack and then use his harpoon to clean up the already weakened player. This will ensure a hooked player if not a dead Survivor. Spamming this harpoon will waste time that could have been spent stalking or hunting down a survivor with unnecessary reload time or stunned time due to a broken ch
Since Hex: Retribution causes the Oblivious status in survivors that cleanse dull totems and reveals the location of all survivors when cleaning a Hex totem, pairing both perks together will force players to think twice about cleansing anything, and the same could be said about other Hex perks like Haunted Grounds, Ruin, and others. It’s usefulness will depend on rank and survivor coordination, and what else can be paired with it. At the very least, the popular use of NOED makes this a decent perk to use, even if only sparingly to keep survivors guess
Compared to the last killer release, the Oni, there is a much larger skill-ceiling needed to properly maneuver the rampaging killer and navigate obstacles on a map to use Demon Dash and Strike effectively. The simplicity of the Deathslinger’s design allows players of all ranks to be effective killers. Combined with a beautiful new map in the Dead Dawg Saloon and a new survivor, whose perks will be covered elsewhere, Chains of Hate is a must-have DLC for all play
To mitigate Legion’s slow starts to matches using perks such as Barbeque and Chili can allow the Killer necessary recon to get things going in his favor as well. This allows Legion to see Survivor’s in a nearby radius after he hooks a Survivor. A powerful ability that allows him to truly begin his pressure. Nurses’ Calling also synergizes extraordinarily well with his Deep Wound ability, as Survivors are forced to heal and mend the status effect away, allowing this Killer to maintain extraordinary pressure on a group of Surviv
